Let’s celebrate and honor the gift of music to our memory! One of our Windsong sisters, Kim Shepard is having a 50th birthday benefit bash to which you are invited! Kim’s wish is to celebrate her milestone by having a fundraiser honoring Windsong and the Alzheimer’s Association. Windsong, celebrating 40 years of making music, will perform a selection of songs reflecting the importance of music to the mind. Studies have shown that some dementia and Alzheimer’s patients can recall memories and emotions with the aid of music. Playing, singing and listening to music helps us keep our brains engaged. Music is also used to create a calming environment and can reduce anxiety and stress.
Please come hear Windsong; eat, drink and celebrate with some of YOUR favorite music with our live DJ; and support these two wonderful organizations.
We ask kindly for your RSVP, so we may be able to provide accommodations for everyone! Please RSVP below.
Thank you for your support!

What can one person do about racism, gun violence, climate change, income inequality, bigotry, ignorance, war and greed? "Write funny songs," says Roy Zimmerman.
Over twenty years on stages, screens and airwaves across America, Roy has brought the sting of satire to the struggle for Peace and Justice. His songs have been heard on HBO and Showtime. He has recorded for Warner/Reprise Records. His YouTube videos have garnered over seven million views, and he's a featured blogger for the Huffington Post.
He's calling his show "ReZist," bringing laughter and encouragement to progressive-minded people who need a lot of both in the Age of Trump. "Sometimes I think satire is the most hopeful form of expression," says Roy, "because in calling out the world's absurdities and laughing in their face, I'm affirming the real possibility for change."

When Gretchen Cryer (lyrics and book) and Nancy Ford (music) produced "Getting My Act Together and Taking It on the Road" in 1978, their main character followed her own voice. It meant losing her friend and agent who didn't agree with women's lib. Now when #MeToo is all about voice - after decades of a culture of silence, Cleveland welcomes the long-time creative team, hosted by our community partners, The Musical Theater Project. Windsong is proud to invite you to meet Cryer and Ford at Night Town and Cleveland Institute of Music. Tickets at www.MusicalTheaterProject.org
